Prinsengracht (PR-2)

This is an excerpt taken from an article published in the Boston Globe written by Carolyn Grimes about her family's visit to Amsterdam:

ON THE CANAL: At a friend's suggestion, the family rented a house on one of the City's canals. "In a residential area you don't feel as much like a tourist,' said Grimes, who found a short-term rental through Pied a Terre Properties (www.piedaterreproperties.com). They rented an apartment at 841 Prinsengracht, on the canal of that name. "It was so beautiful. You have the canal right in the front and you could see the people going by, but it was pretty quiet. In the back, you could see  all the gardens. It was very modern inside:'

Light and Lovely, What a Pleasure!

We rented this apartment to accommodate our parents when they visited.
When we arrived, Kathryn (the owner) met us personally and introduced us to the apartment (we LOVED not having the hassle of going to pick up keys somewhere).

Once settled into the apartment we began to see and appreciate all of the lovely stylish touches and consideration that has been put into making the apartment warm, homey, very comfortable and especially, very clean!

We were sad to leave and look forward to our next Amsterdam visit, which will definitely involve staying at this apartment.

gracious living, canal view

We had a terrific Amsterdam experience, in great part due to this apartment. Lovely views of the Prinsengracht from the dining room downstairs, the bedroom above. The kitchen is large, stocked with all the amenities. the living room is cozy. The apartment is close to grocery and gourmet shops, terrific restaurants, museums and movies. What we liked best was that it was a quiet apartment, yet located in the middle of the lively scene of Amsterdam in the summer.

Location Location Location

"I have stayed in several Pied a Terre apartments and loved every one of them. The location, the style and Kathryn's gracious welcome makes you feel like a very privileged local.
The Prinsengracht 841 was the perfect solution when my parents visited Amsterdam.
It provided not only beautiful views of the canals and lots of space but also allowed them to be comfortably domestic and avoid much of the pressures associated with traveling. They can't wait to come back and bring the grandchildren."

Terrific Visit

My husband and I had an absolutely lovely time in Amsterdam and our accommodation was fabulous! The apartment was modern and decorated with considerable taste and style. We found the apartment, using a map provided to us, without any trouble and the owner was charming and helpful. The services, facilities, and information provided on-line, by e-mail, and via a local ammenidities booklet allowed for a comfortable and convenient stay. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the apartment couldn't have been in a better location. I would like to add that staying in an apartment is the perfect way to see Amsterdam and we can't wait until our next visit. Thanks for everything!
